Peurunkagolf, where nature’s rhythm meets innovation

“We’re not doing this just for show. The robots are now a part of our daily work.” — Mika Närvänen, Assistant Head Greenkeeper, Peurunkagolf.

Nestled between the lakes of central Finland, Laukaan Peurunkagolf is a course where nature guides play. Designer Ronald Fream fell in love with the landscape, shaping a layout where, as the club says, “the terrain doesn’t yield to the course — the land carries the play.”

In 2024, Peurunkagolf became one of the first clubs in Finland to take that natural rhythm into the future, introducing 31 Kress RTKn robotic mowers on its fairways. “We’re not doing this just for show. The robots are now a part of our daily work,” says Mika Närvänen, Assistant Head Greenkeeper, Peurunkagolf.

For CEO Jani Linna and the course team, the shift isn’t just about technology. It’s about freeing staff to focus on the finer details players notice, while reducing fuel costs and machine hours. The club sees it as both an economic and environmental investment — a bold step toward automation that secures the future of a course already known for its courage, vision, and commitment to excellence.
